Still Life Photography Workshop
Our new Still Life Photography Workshop will help you to acquire the skills needed to light basic still life scenes. This is also a great way into product photography for those thinking of turning professional or running their own business. You will discover how to get results using just one light. Then we will explore the use of reflectors and diffusers to add to and modify our light. The images on this page give an idea of the kind of images you can create with shots taken on the day.
You will need a camera that allows you to set aperture, ISO and shutter speed manually. It is also vital that your camera has a hotshoe for the flash trigger to be mounted on. Please be aware that we will be using flash lights so do bear this in mind if it is likely to cause you any difficulties. You may wish to bring a tripod, but this is not essential.
We will be a very small group to enable everyone to get plenty of shots and experience using the lighting setups. This will be a rapid learning environment suited to those who want to make real progress with their still life photography. More advanced lighting setups will be demonstrated at our advanced workshop. This still life photography workshop will focus on using the minimum number of lights to enable people to understand the key principles and make progress without having to buy lots of equipment. Advice will also be given on how to process images in Photoshop.
