This Long Exposure Photography Workshop in Southwold, Suffolk, will help you to gain control over blurring water and clouds. You will learn how different shutter speeds affect the appearance of water in a photograph. There will be an opportunity to try ND filters if you wish. We will be making the most of the iconic Southwold pier as featured in the photos on this page. The timing of the workshop will allow us to photograph the sunset as well (assuming the weather allows that!).
You will need to bring a camera that allows you to set the controls manually (e.g. a DSLR or mirrorless system camera). Please bring a tripod as you will not be able to do the long exposures hand-held. Ideally, a selection of lenses will give you the most versatility. Generally for landscape photography, wideangle lenses are very useful. You may find it helpful to have a remote shutter release or a cable release. If you have any filters (e.g. ND filters) then do bring them along as well. If you are at all unsure about the suitability of your equipment or of the difficulty level of this long exposure photograph workshop, please do contact us for advice.
The number of places will be limited to enable us to work well as a group, so please do book early. You can reserve your place on our long exposure photography workshop by using the booking system below. You may need to pay for parking on the night and we would suggest bringing some warm clothing.
