Long Exposure Photography Workshop at Cromer
Our Long Exposure Photography Workshop returns to Cromer! Discover how to control the appearance of water in your images. From frozen splashes to ghostly mist, you can make an artistic choice how you want water to appear. We will be working in the low light of evening to practise taking seascapes with varying degrees of long exposure. We will also be carrying on after sunset to take seascapes and architectural images of Cromer Pier into the “blue hour”.
ND filters (neutral density filters) will be available to try on the night if you don’t have your own. We can even lend you a tripod if you don’t have one. Once you’ve tried this form of landscape photography, I’m sure you’ll be hooked. So, we can offer advice on what gear to get and the best value for money. Your tutor Joe Lenton has had his fine art landscape photography exhibited around the world and has won many awards at international level. Joe has also run long exposure photography workshops at various locations over several years. So, you won’t just be taking photos but really learning and gaining insights from an experienced professional.
For this workshop you will need a camera that allows you to control the exposure manually. In other words, you need to be able to control shutter speed, ISO and aperture. If your camera doesn’t allow this then you will struggle to get the most out of the session. DSLR cameras and mirrorless camera systems should normally be fine. If you are in any doubt please do contact us to check before booking. A tripod is essential for long exposure photography so if you don’t have one please get in touch as we may be able to lend you one (subject to availability). Please do bring filters with you if you have them. Wideangle lenses tend to be best for this workshop. But you can work with other focal lengths if you wish.
If you are unfamiliar with Cromer then you can find samples of photos from Cromer in this blog post. This may help inspire you for your own creative ideas and there is also information on parking and food. Places are strictly limited and by advance booking only using the form below.
