Lifestyle Portrait Photography Workshop
Our lifestyle portrait photography workshop is your chance to refine your portrait skills in a small group workshop (maximum of 5 participants) with location photography specialist Joe Lenton. We will be working in a private garden which has many features for photography including sheds, a pond, a small orchard and a variety of mature flowering plants. The images on this page give you a feel for some of the unique features of this garden we will be working with. You will have plenty of time to take shots in different locations, working with natural light and flash. We will aim to use any late evening sunlight to create backlit portraits, using the sun to give a beautiful rim light.
This is a brand new venue and a brand new workshop. It suits a variety of levels of photographer, although if you are totally new to portrait photography you might like to try our basic portrait photography workshop first (see list of photography workshops for next available date). We will be working with an experienced local model to help you get some great shots. There is free parking available.
Speedlights (flashguns) will be available to work with on the day, but do feel free to bring your own if you wish. Our triggers will work with most cameras, synchronising up to 1/250th of a second. If you wish to work with TTL and/or hypersync then we have Nikon-compatible triggers – for other manufacturers do bring your own. Wide aperture lenses (eg. f/1.8) are an advantage if you have them, but aren’t essential.
Our model for this workshop will be Bernadette Lemon. She is featured in the images in this event description. Bernadette is an experienced model who is in high demand. You are sure to come away from this lifestyle portrait photography workshop with many great images. There will be guidance from Joe on the day and please do feel free to ask questions. Please note that certain parts of the garden are not included in the shoot and all participants must adhere to instructions given. If you have any concerns about stings or bites then please make sure to provide for yourself.
