How to take portraits outdoors – Introduction to Portrait Photography
Portrait photography is one of the most common types of photography. In this workshop we look at how to take portraits outdoors using natural light. You will learn how to choose a background, how to blur the background if you wish, how to read the light and some basic ideas for posing your subject. This is a very practical learning workshop that will equip you to take better photos of your friends and family. It is suitable for all types of camera, although a DSLR or mirrorless camera tend to give you the best results and the most options to work with.
We will look at the role of aperture when taking portrait photos. You will discover how it can affect the amount of blur in the background. We will also look at other ways to increase the amount of blur so that your subject stands out more. If you have never taken portraits before or struggle to get good results then this workshop is ideal for you.
Groups are kept to a maximum of 6 participants to ensure everyone has plenty of time to shoot and to ask questions. Please book your place on this workshop using the form below.
