Business Headshots Photography – Focussed Professional Training
Business headshots & corporate portraits are common jobs for a professional photographer. If you just rely on one lighting setup then your images risk looking rather samey. Creating a variety of looks enables you to produce headshots that match the branding better. So, in this workshop we will be looking at a variety of business headshot setups, considering the merits and limitations of each. You will have a better understanding of how to control light to produce the right images for your clients. Moreover, you will learn techniques to deal with reflections when your subject wears glasses. You will also get a set of lighting diagrams to take away to remind you of the various lighting schemes used.
We will be using a wide variety of modifiers as well as flash gels. Lighting equipment is provided. You should ideally have some experience of studio lighting before attending this workshop. We would recommend using a lens of 50mm or longer to get the right effect. Shorter focal lengths tend to distort the facial features and also leave you needing to crop much of the image away. Triggers for standard hot-shoes are provided (Nikon, Canon). If you are in any doubt about your kit or skills level please do contact us before booking.
The images on this page are illustrative of the lighting setups you will work with in our business portraits training session. They are all real business headshots produced for real clients by your tutor Joe Lenton. We will consider how to shoot to prepare images for layering in effects in Photoshop and what kind of effects you might want to use.
Places are limited to just 3 participants to ensure maximum shooting time and a rapid learning environment. See more of Joe’s commercial portraits here.
Joe has been commissioned to provide headshots of various entrepreneurs, teachers, Bishops, senior staff & more. Clients include Norwich Research Park, Norwich Diocese, Thrive, Frontpage Media & more
