Beach Fashion Photography Workshop

The beach can be a beautiful location for photography but also poses various challenges. We will look at working with natural light and flash in this beach fashion photography workshop to enable you to control the look of your images. We will be working with excellent local model Cheryl Roach (pictured above & below).

Cheryl is a very experienced model. She effortlessly creates a variety of poses and will take direction from you as well. We have worked with Cheryl on several fashion shoots before and she certainly delivers great results.

Our location is Winterton beach in Norfolk. This is a lovely part of the Norfolk coastline and includes sand dunes and old sheds as well as the beach itself. We recommend a picnic on the beach after the workshop has finished! There is also a cafe next to the car park. Please note that you will need some cash to pay for parking next to the beach.

 

You will need a good quality camera, preferably with interchangeable lenses so that you can take wide and close-cropped images. Please bring a polarising filter if you have one. Do bring along your flash (speedlight) and trigger if you would like to work with those. There will be lights available to try on the day. The images on this page give you a feel for what we will be doing. You might also be interested to read our blog post on beach portraits. Your tutor will be Joe Lenton who has an Associateship with the SWPP specialising in outdoor portrait photography. Joe will help you to ensure that you not only get great images to go away with but that you also develop the skills to be able to do so time after time.
