Create Superheroes in Photoshop with Layered Effects
When I knew I was going to be shooting with Danny Dobson, I started to think of creative possibilities for the end images. His physique is extraordinary, so I thought about trying a few images that were a bit like superheroes. For this, I would need dramatic lighting and the right poses to prepare for the edits in Photoshop. Once I had the studio shots I could go on to create superheroes in Photoshop with layered effects from other images.
The fire themed image uses shots taken of a log fire whilst on holiday. I like to look out for possible stock images that I may be able to create something from later. The next image uses various bits from an industrial shoot in Norwich. I photographed welding and angle grinding so had a large variety of images with sparks and similar other effects going on. With the right blend modes and a bit of tweaking, they could be used to create my superheroes in Photoshop.
This video takes you through the various layers used to create my superheroes. You will see how blend modes can make a big difference to bring the various elements together. You will also see how dodging and burning can be used to enhance muscle definition
